Extraordinary women

Success does not always mean a multi-million dollar empire. Yes money is a signs of success but having it (money) does not make a person extraordinary. Success is when you have done your best. When you stand up and go on even after a fall.

So if you think that this is a section that’s meant for super-heroines, you would have to rethink your definition of extra-ordinary. the women whom we will be featuring here may be successful in their field of activity but they also are very ordinary people. What made them extra-ordinary was their determination to push on despite contrary circumstances. Women from diverse back-grounds. Women who love their family more than anything else. Women who would give up all this for their children. Women who know they can make a difference and does not allow anything to stand in their way.

Once in a while we would be high-lighting on one extra-ordinary woman. From their experience you would get to know them better. We are sure you would learn from them.

Meet jen lemen, she is an extraordinary woman!

what make jen an extraordinary woman?

JenMy name is Jen Lemen. I’m messy, hopeful, enthusiastic and helplessly in love with the idea that stories can change you and me forever.

Jen write zines. Last may she transported 1000 books from her zenes, 2000 bouncy balls, 1000 pens, 200 hope notes, 1 tent and a whole lotta love all the way out to the villages of Umutara, Rwanda. The books were distributed in 3 girls schools in umutara.

Written in Kinyarwanda with English translation on each page, Learning To Help Ourselves and Others tells the story of how a young girl uses her creativity and determination to create a micro-finance project selling chicken eggs in the refugee camps of Uganda.  This true story encourages girls to take their ideas and education seriously. http://jenlemen.com/blog/?p=388

Would you like to recommend a person whom you feel is truly extraordinary? We would love to hear about what makes her extraordinary!

Being a mother IS…

Being a mother is wanting to pick up your children each time they fall,
but teaching them to pick up themselves instead.

Being a mother is wanting to pick your children from all hurt and harm,
but knowing that they must be taught to take care of themselves.

Being a mother is wanting to give your children the best of everything,
but knowing they will value life more if they wait and work for many of their rewards.

Being a mother is wanting to love your children with every aspect of yourself,
but knowing that some of the best love is given quietly. secretly, and in ways that they can understand.

Being a mother is a great responsibility!
